I agree with all below answers, especially the Closing of the Winterland DVD. For modern Dead, I happen to love "Truckin' Up to Buffalo" (over the Alpine show). The energy is fantasic and there is some amazing interplay between Jerry and Brent that is chilling (especially knowing the fate of both of them). From those few moments it's as if there is a spritual connection between the two musicians, a link that once broken left the survivor a little bit less then what he was and perhaps started the clock ticking towards the inevitable.

Oh, check out me getting all "deep". Sometimes I frighten myself.

I was just about to post about that Buffalo DVD! It's got a great Row Jimmy, Bertha, and a SMOKING Deal. I gotta agree with the Jerry/Brent chemistry - it IS chilling on the DVD! I also love what they did with Drums>Space. I was about to skip over it the first time I saw the DVD when they started doing the crazy stuff with the visuals.
